Today you'll hike in taiga forest crossing several springs with clear water and in the evening reach the lake where you’ll set up a tent camp. The forest valley is very picturesque. The trek route goes along an old military tank road, at present days it looks more like a path. Neighbouring forest is quite dark with lots of evergreen trees, plants, flowers and berries.

14.00 - Lunch stop near forest stream.

Usually it takes about 5 -7 hours to hike through this valley and get to Baikal lake.

17.00 - Set up tent camp near beautiful bay of the lake.

If you are brave enough or the water temperature is warm , you definitely have to swim in clear waters of Baikal. After this day of hiking this reward is worth it. Enjoy sunset over the wast waters of Baikal.

19.00 - Dinner.

Watching the lights of the city sparkling far away and showing civilization on the opposite shore gives you a special feeling of being away from the world. Overnight in tent. Total trek distance is about 18 km.

Day 2.

Trekking along the Circum-Baikal railway

09.00 - Breakfast. 10.00 - Start trekking.

At first we'll have a short easy walk to the top of one of neighbouring hill where you'll observe Baikal from up high. Once we return we'll collect camping equiment and continue trek trip along shoreline of Baikal lake.

Today we will hike on historical Transsib railroad branch. This part of Transsib was originally the connection between Western and Eastern branches of Russian railroads at Baikal lake region. For the transcendental building expences this part was named "Golden Buckle of Russian steel belt". There are lots of bridges, tunnels, walls and other constructions on this railroad branch, everything is hand-made from stones with big art. For the present moment this part of Transsib is not included into general railroad line and this fact turns it into a museum.

13.00 - Lunch stop at shore of Baikal lake.

On the way you will visit old russian village Angasolka. Optional you may visit the museum of Roeriсhs which is located right in the village. After trekking up short deep valley you will get back to main Transsib railroad.

18.00 - Transfer by evening local train back to Irkutsk.
21.00 - Arrival to Irkutsk.

Optional you may trek further Angasolka village along the circum-Baikal raiway to Kultuk village and catch a car there to Irkutsk.
